I think i underestimated the tiredness of my body. But after sleeping for twelve hours solid I feel better (by which I mean that i've gone from feeling like I'm going to keel over any second, to a state of semi-alertness). I even feel capable of walking in a straight line- never a small accomplishment for me. ;)

Derren Brown people rang to say that since they didn't include my clip in the last show do I want to film for the new series and I said I'd think about it. Still mulling it over.

I had lots of fun the last time, and if it's not in conflict with my work schedule I think I'll very happily do it again.

It's quiet. I tend to miss out on how peaceful the early morning can be because I'm usually doing my best to sleep through it.

Montenegro is the only place where I rise early- mostly due to the combined necessity of drought and heat. Because if you're not up by 6am in order to gather the water for the hour that it flows then you probably won't have any until the evening. (That is not unless you fancy a twenty minute trek to climb a hill and fetch some from the stream).

And of course, there is the heat. 6am is lovely and fresh and a bit cold. The sky is gentle-coloured and the grass is wet with dew. In fact the only thing that ruins the idyll is the annoying cockrel that screeches every half hour, and whenever he ends up as chicken soup it won't be soon enough. By 9am the sun is still pleasant but by noon the heat will have become blistering and it won't let up until about 4. Even the asphalt is hot enough to burn the feet. During those hours even the breeze seems to die.

The sunsets are lovely though. And the nights are alive with stars.

I'd really like to see Montenegro sometime.

It can certainly be arranged if you're not fussed about things like running water :)

Montenegro has a lot of natural beauty, which is fortunate because its people are morons and its amenities are nothing to rave about :)

(but you'd certainly have a place to stay if you wanted to visit)
