I'm ill. I've got some hideous chest/inability to breathe thing, and I feel and look like hell (well except for my hair which has done pretty curly things of its own volition on account of getting rained on on way to work this am).

I keep coughing and wheezing, I can't breathe properly, nose/sinuses under pressure and all the rest.

The good thing about working for medics is that they feel sorry for you when you're ill, and they offer you medications and say *why yes, going home from work early is a perfectly sensible thing for you to do, drink lots of fluids and get lots of rest*

So, I went home and I feel a lot better being a layabout on the couch.

I wouldn't be worried at all except that I'm meant to be travelling to Holland tomorrow morning for three days.

The plan is to eat lots and lots and lots of garlic (I am sure whoever is picking me up at Rotterdam airport tomorrow will be delighted). A whole head at least (natural killer of bacteria in the throat). Of course I'll probably need to drink coffee to counter-balance the fact that garlic tends to cause my blood pressure to drop dramatically.

Ah, the fun of turning your body into a chemistry set.

Now, some garlic and a nap, and then catching up on LJ (something I invariably end up doing when I ought to be packing my bag). It's only 3 days so I'm just going with a small shoulderbag. The whereabouts of either of my passports are still unknown but I'm certain they are in the house.

Now just to recover sufficiently to be able to fly tomorrow.

Good guess. :)
Yug is indeed short of Yugoslavian. :) (The other abbreviation I tend to use is S&M- short for Serbia & Montenegro- the current name of the country but it's still Yugoslavia to me).

Thank you for the tea suggestions, I'll check them out. :) I already consume peppermint like crazy (soothes my stomach) but I'll look out for thyme.

Re: bah
I used to live in Holland, and I was going back thither to visit the people I used to live with as they had requested my presence.

I still take way more stuff than I need to (I am unable to set foot outside the house unless I have at least three books and a notebook with me) but I'm getting better. :) The joy of breezing through elegantly with only handluggage is well worth it.
