I'm the worst Resigner, ever

So this morning I woke up with the firm intentions of packing in my Part Time Job number 1 because it involves a hugely long commute (3 hours total) and about five hours of work, so I decided I was so knackered it wasn't worth it.

On the bus on the way here I was briefly uplifted by feelings of power and completion, thinking that this is probably the last time I will have to make the torturous journey on the tubes and the 176, and I did indeed resign and everyone agreed that yes they understood and they'd get another aency person in who could do more hours, and that they were all really sad to see me go, and I said that I'd hugely enjoyed working there and so on (which is true- everyone's so nice it's creepy).

Anyway. So, half an hour after that's all been sorted out my ex-boss (whose PA I was) reaffirms her sadness and asks me if instead I want to come and work as a Research Assistant and help write up Policy documents for a couple of months and I agree to this scheme, so I've got a new temporary career effective next week.

The commute is still the same pain but I get to work flexible hours so I don't have to kill myself to be at the desk at a particular time and I'll get a swanky new email address. And the assurance of having some gainful employment when/if my Part time Job Number 2 ends.

They probably realized what a treasure you are and didn't want to let you slip away.

Hope it all works out well!

aww! they lurve you :-D
i only get one day per month of work at the library as

it is, this month's was today, and what do i do this morning but fall

down the stairs AND burn my hand badly in rapid succession, JUST as i was

setting out for work too.

phone was near so called in sick from my prone position with "flu" cos

too embarrassed to state real reasons and woman on phone was bitchy about

me leaving it so late (30 min.s before i was due to start) as they'd now

have to phone around for cover.

i was getting on so well with the deputy manager last week too and now (a) i HURT and (b) everyone probably thinks, "slacker, she only used us to get reference for Oxford".

and cos i was off, i got to take a call i wouldn't otherwise have gotten - from parents! they're due any minute now actually.

life indeed sucks and blows.

caps lock stuck sorry.

and what a beauteous gypsyesque photo of you that is :D

i've written it up in a massive melodramatic whinge on LJ
and apologies for yet again replying to a post of yours and making it all about me.

(I think you should make the long-haired photo your default!)

I've been meaning to ask if when you transcribe letters
and things you use a dicta-machine. The kind you control
with your foot. Because I found it extremely therapeutic
as in "you wanna talk to fast buddy?? Fine!" STOMP.
Rewind. STOMP. Play. If you don't have one, I think you
should insist they buy you one. :)

And congrats on the new job. Of course they don't want to
lose you- because you're fabulous.

you're fab too ;)
I don't use a dicta machine exactly, it's a similar but a slightly different system called lexitype and I can't vary the speed of thier speech.

For therapy I use the shredder :D :D :D
