Merry Christmas to those that celebrates it, and happy time off work with nice telly to those that don't. Z and I fall into the latter category and have taken to not rising from our bed before at least 1 pm. Well not officially rising in any case. There are of course the toilet trips, and the letting in and out of cats and the getting up to bring coffees and teas and maybe a few snacks while we snuggle and watch Buffy on DVD.

Neither Z nor I are religious, but in line with our Unitarian leanings we are perfectly happy to make a fuss of any holiday that comes with food, particularly when it's also paired with Days Off Granted By The Government.

Our little potted pine has gratified us by surviving a year of the English weather and our good intentions in the garden, and its bald patches have been adequately covered by festive lights. It is all very cheery and merry and everyone is feeling good, including me, even though I am now resigned to being Pregnant For All Eternity.

And now, from me to you:

Those are perfect "I've never been so embarrassed in all my lives" faces.

Have a happy holiday, and looking forward to baby's arrival!

the baby knows it will also be dressed up and photographed for the internet, and is staying put. ;-)

Christmas hugs, and best wishes for future events. Looking forward to seeing the three of you soon!

Oh how that strategy will backfire! I am telling it that if it is more than a week late I will put it in a pink tutu, and a hat with ostrich feathers.

ah, but that's what you do to everyone... ;-)

Merry Christmas Traveller! I miss you lots.
i blame the baby.
if it had had the consideration to be born already i could be channeling all my dressing up impulses onto it and then innocent animals wouldn't have to suffer.

On the other hand if you ever feel the impulse to knit the tiniest things imaginable I will happily dress up Zelda (she's the most compliant) and take pictures.

Re: Merry Christmas Traveller! I miss you lots.
I would knit something but it would be HIDEOUS. doesn't your baby want to be as well-dressed as you are?

Happy holidays to you and Z.

THank you, and to you and Jess. :)
Are you in Budapest yet?
Dec. 25th, 2007 07:31 pm (UTC)
Oh yes. Check my journal.

And my cats are pointing and chuckling and saying "Neener neener."

I'm amazed that you managed to escape intact.

the secret is probably in there being two people to wrestle them into outfits
Ah my cats, the poor suckers, are actually very gentle and compliant. Especially the little black one (Zelda) who is also very easily confused and has the memory of a goldfish and after about three minutes goes 'er, did I ALWAYS come with a hat? I wish I could remember.'

Merry Christmas!
Black cat looks like it's planning your painful demise.

Hahahaha, yes.
My original caption for that photo read something along the lines of mothereffing festive.

On the other hand - sooooo cute when disgruntled! I want to dress her in more wrong outfits! Like Elizabethan collars! And tutus!

Your house, your rules! Take that cuteness, cats!
Dec. 27th, 2007 11:06 am (UTC)
It's probably their good fortune that inexpensive little outfits are hard to find otherwise they'd be getting trussed up in them every other day probably.

I love how depressed my ginger cat looks.
