All those on my f-list who answered my friendly affection meme - rest assured I'm not ignoring you, I just don't want to overload my f-page with affection all at once :)

Today I've written words and now I've struggled to 43k. If I'd applied this much motivation and dedication to essay writing I'd probably have had a brilliant academic career.

I've also enjoyed Saturday to the hilt by watching lots of telly, once more getting my weekly fix of Strictly Come Dancing . Oh, I am so helplessly addicted to it. I love the dancing. I adore the dancing. I love watching people who haven't danced before the competition learn a dance in a week. It makes me want to get my little prancing shoes out of their hibernation and go back to learning ballroom and latin dances. A good plan, except that my knee has been so bad that if I take up some of the dances I was learning before - such as the quickstep - I may as well put a bullet through it right now and save myself the trouble of killing it slowly.

It's the same dilemma as with horseriding. I nearly did get killed there and was told in no uncertain terms that I have the wrong build for it and that if I fall badly again I'm basically buggered. Last time around it took nearly a year of physiotherapy to fix my hip/lower back and I'd like to think I was bouncier at 15.

Dancing is not easy. I love it so much it hurts, but naturally I'm neither graceful nor light and you need to be both for ballroom. I learn well when I want to, and having to think about posture and how you move/walk is useful and a few years ago I could do a decent foxtrot (even though my turns were very panicked and wooden)and I really want to go back to it one day. Or at the very least go back to bellydance and salsa which are significantly easier to memorise and less strenuous on the knee. And they're sexy. I can do sexy very easily. I have problems with graceful. ;)

Clearly, this couldn't be more right:

shoes are love
brought to you by the isLove Generator

and finally in the seasonal spirit of sharing, a meme I snagged from lillfive who got it off some people I don't know.

I know I talk about myself a ton anyway, but here's your chance to get more dirt.

we all think we are so close, but really we know nothing
about each other.

I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Anything you like and I'll answer honestly, even if I have to screen the comment. ;)

Ask away. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

those are excellent questions. :)
Slim thighs. ;)

I think what makes it all worth it is the feeling that I've lived a full and honest life, regardless whether that life was always happy or not. To be able to say at the end - yes, I was who I wanted to be. I did not lie. And I loved as fully as I could, as often as I wanted to and more often than not I was loved in return.

And the one thing that I'd work for is learning how to give birth to the things I see and feel in my head, creating my vision in the world.

I've just read Elise's friendly-love thing and was impressed. So can I load up the queue a little bit more by asking for something about me? :)
Nov. 27th, 2004 01:47 pm (UTC)
but of course. :) It would be my pleasure.

I know I've been gone for a long time, and this is the hardest thing in the world to do..but *gulp* I need some affection, too *runs away*

But not before asking: What is your native language? How many languages can you speak/understand fluently? If you could pick a language to learn, what would it be?

Nov. 27th, 2004 04:44 pm (UTC)
Sure thing. :) Affection coming up in the very near future and I'm delighted you asked.

Languages: Russian and Serb are my mother tongues, I am bilingual. Russian was the language I spoke first though, and spoke the most. I can also speak fluently Serb and English and I have a good understanding of Italian.

I think my next language of choice to learn would be Georgian.

Oh my gosh, I totally LOVE Strictly Come Dancing. What do you think of them all? Jill: an excellent dancer, but somehow I just don't connect with her emotionally during her performances. Aled: how cute is he? Denise: fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. Julian: Loved his foxtrot, and who doesn't like a man who can carry off a brooch AND a tailcoat at the same time? Roger: Aw, bless.
Nov. 27th, 2004 04:42 pm (UTC)
I thing Roger and Julian tie as my favourites. Roger because he is the underdog and he has such a friendly affable way about him. Julian - he is so fun, and such a sweetheart, and he does try hard bless him.

Lilia the pro dancer teaching Aled really irritates me though. She looks so pissy.

Denise is fab but I do find her a bit annoying sometimes. Jill I think is sweet, but I connect the least with her because she is the best dancer and she makes it look fabulous - I egg on the others who struggle with it more.

Did you see who got eliminated tonight? I didn't catch that bit.

Roger, sorry... :o(
Nov. 27th, 2004 04:26 pm (UTC)
YES!!!! I've snagged a few of you :)

How did you become interested in Tarot? How old were you
when you moved to England? Have you ever thought of living
in America for awhile?

*reserves the right to come back later with more questions*

Tarot - I got interested in a bizzarre way because I had a dream about a deck of cards, repeating dreams actually that didn't stop until I went into town looking for cards that matched the ones from my dream.

I didn't think there was anything to it at first, but then I started playing with the deck and got really positive feedback from people and it all grew from there.

I was 12 when I moved to England.

America - no, not my kind of country to settle in, although I liked visiting. I can think of a few bits that wouldn't drive me absolutely barking mad within a fortnight, but I'm happy in Europe. I adore Europe. It has a lot of cleverness and culture and history and it's all near - I think if I was to choose to move away from Europe I would go to Australia.

okies. :)

I don't think words will convey..but I got chills. Literally.
That is the clearest case of "a sign" I have ever heard.
It's absolutely fascinating. Although I shouldn't be
surprised. You're pretty fascinating your self :)

Which adult has been most influential in your life and why?
Nov. 28th, 2004 01:01 pm (UTC)
It's hard to pick just one. :)
Probably the single most lasting influences have been my grandmother and my Dad, although Neil had a pretty damn big effect too :)

Considering you're the only applicant that almost got back to me with a resumé...
I want you to ask me something </strike>you think you should know about me.</strike> *conveniently ignores last half of sentance*

Will you marry me?

Re: Considering you're the only applicant that almost got back to me with a resumé...
Although on the offchance that my first reply did not sound sufficiently enthusiastic, it may be better phrased with

Yes, yes yes! ;)

That sounded much more enthusiastic, yes. *s* but the first reply was good enough for me. ;o)
