My boss is lovely beyond copare, but for those of you who are less fortunate in your employers here's a true story to help cheer you up.

A certain professor was taking his two research assistants to a congress in New York at which they were meant to present the findings of their studies. However, he being something of a miser booked them the cheapest accomodation possible, which as it turns out was not a hotel at all, but a homeless shelter.

True, he did not realise it was a homeless shelter at the time he made the booking but when he did realise he did not take his students somewhere else. Oh no. Instead he berated them for thier whimsical weaknesses and pointed out that a) after a while they will stop noticing that the place stinks and b) cockroaches are quite harmless. And so they spent three days there, barricading thier room doors, sleeping in shifts and nervously holding on to their cylyndrical conference poster cases to be used as weapons.

Now, don't you feel better? :)

Other news: Stomach still being mean to me, mzdt's rice recipe coming in most useful.

1) At home she attempts to dial 9 before making any call.

i used to get around this by not having a touch-tone phone at home.

Now we have cordless handsets, so it's easier to pick up and wander somewhere without the handset whiplash that you get when you wander too far away from the desk

I’ve done that before. I will know I’ve spent too much time at home when I dial 1470 before making a call from work.

hi - i'm here because i find your writing (in astrology communities) interesting.

yesterday, a coworker told me a story about her father and a man he worked with at the water treatment plant (the sewage people) having a side business for 10+ years: a cholocolate factory. and it was basically the two of them running all the machines and doing the work. and each of them would answer their telephones at both places sometimes with the wrong greeting, which i find highly amusing.

Re: ooooh! another astro buddy :D
if you have a gemini venus too that would be just spooky... ;)

I do love my Libra Mars, and it's been so interesting to meet people with the same placement (and my goodness I've met a whole load recently and it's been a pleasant surprise)

Re: ooooh! another astro buddy :D
i think i haven't met any others with mars in libra - just e-conversed with you two.

my venus is also in libra (pluto, ASC and uranus also in libra - i'm chock full of libra).

i noticed today when going through entries that beethoven and i both have mercury & moon conjunct in sagittarius, and also jupiter in capricorn. i was really interested in the moon-mercury thing in me (though i have neptune with them), and now i want to read about what any astrologers here and there have written about it.

Sue Tomkins' Aspects in Astrology is a very good book I think - have you come across it?
