And today's award for most amusing forum of the day goes to:

LindaLand . My favourite forum so far is the one dedicated to Linda Goodman's talking sheepdog.

Although the one about Linda Goodman's life and times is pretty good too. That's where the crazies seem to come out to play.

ALL THIS DOOM AND GLOOM ABOUT LINDA GOODMAN IS ******* ME OFF!
WHEN YOU ARE IMMORTAL YOU MUST FAKE YOUR DEATH, CHANGE YOUR NAME AND THE LOCATION WHERE YOU LIVE!
OTHERWISE SOME CRAZY U.S GOVERNMENT SON OF A GUN WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND REALLY KILL YOU!

SHE CANT ANNOUNCE WHERE SHES AT!

PLEASE STOP MAKING UP FALSE STORIES OF LINDA WHEN SHE MADE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR HOW SHE WAS GONNA PULL OFF HER HOUDINI STUNT!

SHES IMMORTAL! NOT DEAD! ALIVE AND KICKING!

GET IT

Yah buddy.
I believe ya.
(I always assume that people going off on one like that are in fact pulling off some elaborate joke, and I'm always dissapointed when I think they are in fact being serious)

Now as much as I LOVE astrology and respect Linda Goodman (who is after all the author of the first astrology book I ever came across and loved, Love Signs - and it is undeniably a lovely work) and am intrigued by her extrmely mad ideas, the true joy of LindaLand are the posts and the people who post them.

Thank you to the very lovely nanji for the link. :)

So, having died she’s now well on the way to starting a minor religion?

It would appear so.
It's actually quite disturbing and creepy how fanatically devoted some people on there are (e.g. Linda betrayed me by dying but I've forgiven her for it now)

But Perhaps I'm just cynical because I'm jealous.
I've always had a hankering to have my own cult.

Would it be worth having your own cult, if you had to die first?

I wouldn’t like my own cult, at least not while I was still alive. I’d feel afraid of being branded a heretic by my followers. A bit like that guy who entered a lookalike competition and came third… despite being the celebrity they were supposed to look like.

Celebrities are the modern pantheon, only not quite as omnipotent as the gods of old.

Found the reference.

It was Charlie Chaplin, in a Charlie Chaplin—lookalike competition, and he didn’t come anywhere near third…
