Yesterday, I got to see Lynne! :) *bounciness* Furthermore, Lynne has significantly improved my quality of wakeful hours by supplying me with some excellent reading: The Famished Road by Ben Okri.

I've just finished When the Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka - a story of a family of Japanese Americans instructed to report to an internment camp during Second World War. I loved the style it was written in, haunting partly through its simple elegance, its way of giving tragedy more ipact through understatement. I love the title too. Nowadays, if I don't know the author I will pick up a book based on the cover and the title and the perusing of a page of writing.

Finally, I got a rather cool thing in the post from Harusami- Thank you!!!
So a day of some rather delightful occurences.

Although, this morning's surprise is rather less so, where the link and the story came to my attention courtesy of Neil Gaiman's blog officialgaiman

I am sure the deaf will feel much better knowing that the government is looking out for thier interests and protecting them from witchcraft and the strain of having to decide for themselves by ceasing to fund closed-caption viewing on those programs deemed inappropropriate (these include Sabrina and Scooby-Doo).

Yesterday I managed a full five hours of wakefulness. Today I am aiming for seven, go me.
