17.5 weeks pregnancy belly

17.5 weeks pregnancy belly
Originally uploaded by rainsinger.

My baby belly continues on its savage quest to make me unable to wear any trouser that doesn't come with maternity panels or have a seriously elasticated waistband.

But note my thousands of bites from mystery critter and my prettay birthday necklace from humanfemale.

Croatia was excellent, but so hot that for the first time the weather in England does not depress me.

Aw! Awesome! You do know that Ro will try to steal your baby? Or have you already promised it to her?

Mate, just buy the maternity trousers. You'll have to wear them eventually and it's more cost-effective if you get them early on. I resisted until it was too late, and I would do things differently if I had the chance again.

I've been looking at maternity trousers, just not finding much in there that actually suits/fits me. It's the same issue as with regular trousers of finding some that fit right in both the leg and the waist and don't make my butt looks like it belongs to an elephant.

Ebay has been my friend though, and the search continues.

You know what? I have one pair of maternity trousers left that I didn't give away and they are AWESOMELY comfortable and very simple. What are your length measurements? Maybe I could mail them to you :)

That sucks cuz they are really comfy. I got them from Motherhood. Do you have that store up there? If not, check them out online, maybe.

Maternity trousers are a must. You might have to wear them afterwards for a little bit especially if you have a c-section because those were the only trousers apart from PJ's that were comfortable on my stomach after mine.

Oh... but buy them online because you can get nicer ones than I've seen in any shop.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I've been looking on ebay so far mostly, just struggling to find stuff that's flattering due to length/shape of leg.

Wah, I can't see the pic because work is blocking it for being unsuitable! Are you huge?

Anyway, I didn't buy one single item of maternity wear, just stretchy clothes in bigger and bigger sizes. Next time round I am buying maternity clothes as soon as I pee on the stick and it turns blue. Especially jeans. I really, really wished I had bought maternity jeans.

Are you going to find out the sex in a few weeks or go for the surprise option?

Less huge in life than in my mind, I think. All my life I've been used to my stomach area being the slenderest part of me so it's disconcerting to watch its changing shape. I think I notice it more than I would if say my legs got chunkier or something.

I am very much keen on finding out the sex beforehand - too curious normally to want the surprise option anything! Mostly though I'm curious if I'm right - I've had a powerful feeling it was a boy since the beginning.

The bites were hell to live with, because they itched soooooooooo badly.

The maternity trousers quest is one equal to discovering the holy grail but happily I'm making progress.
