The art of being wan

My melancholy and incapacity are continuing to pay off, as they continue to spur my f-list into acts of compassion. Today miss_newham came to help me drink wine and sabotage my Grinchy attitude towards the Christmas, by bringing festive cheer and glittery shineyness with her, and giving me my very own little Xmas tree, bedecked with its own little purple and red and pink mirrorball type ornaments which are so much better than boughs of holly anyway.

What with me being a lightweight, and miss_newham being a highly conscientous individual with classes to go to, we did not make much inroad into the wine - a regrettable situation that mzdt thankfully helped me remedy.

And now I feel all warm and purry and happy and I swear it's not because of the booze.

And having been the recepient of so much goodness and mercy I am feeling motivated to want to give back to the community, so here's a Serb joke for voiceofsauron which is pretty much as close as my native language gets to punning.

"Son, don't rock the grandmother. That's not why she hung herself."

Goodnight world, I love you.

miss_newham is the Spirit of Christmas. Make sure she never forgets this. And if she ever finds out I said so, I'm denying it. Oh yes. /looking both ways

And rumour has it young Ewan that you're responsible for triggering all this goodwill. I don't think there are enough socks in the world to reward you both.

Make sure she never forgets this.

I shall instruct tjej to make it into a song and play it nightly on the recorders forthwith.

Well, I can only hope some of those Xmas good-cheer socks come my way, because frankly I'm a little short. (They keep developing holes, for some reason, and being a boy I never quite get around to replacing them...)

Do you have any preferences or vetoes as to sock patterns or colour schemes?

The Sock Conversation
My socks have always been neutral coloured. Wearing patterned or colourful undergarments has been one of my real difficulties in life. Perhaps there's some deep-seated psychological reason, or perhaps I should just lighten up?

Re: The Sock Conversation
Next thoughtfully do a packet of seven pairs of socks with each day of the week emblazoned across the top. It makes the less conscientious sock-changer (ie most of we males) think about the consequences of our actions.

Re: The Sock Conversation
Well now, I'd never wear the same undergarments 2 days in a row. It just means I have to do my washing more often, which as we all know, is a chore and a hassle. My philosophy broadly remains that more clothes = more washing/more piles of dirty clothes/more choices of what to wear in the morning.

Can I borrow one of these pictures to put up on my own LJ? Well, I'm going to anyway. Hooray for the happiness!
