The man who cried Woolfe

I had a rather fabulous day yesterday.
Did the tube walk , and to celebrate its completion consumed vodka limes in pubs and parts of London never hitherto visited, then guided back with me those hardy souls who were interested in Lexx , dinner and alcohol (although not necessarily all three, and not in that order).

I was thoroughly delighted by the company and suitably impressed with edibility of vegetarian dishes, as well as mzdt's ability to cook brown rice. Then as some merrymakers went off to other social engagements, I used the opportunity to immerse miss_newham and verlaine in the delights that were Lexx and Ceca's music videos (all things best enjoyed if you don't attempt to make sense of them).

As the wine sloshed more freely through my system and verlaine failed to resist, I explored alternative future vocations as a hairdresser (should psychology fail to captivate me a few years down the line) by weaving his hair into an elaborate concoction of braids, shown here for your viewing pleasure:

and in the process discovered that should verlaine ever tire of his vocation as a librarian he could probably have a future as a Virginia Woolf Impersonator

Alternatively, I'm sure that given some flowers I could also transform him into Waterhouse's Ophelia.

what's the pre-raphealite one where she's floating in the lake? I think we should do that to verlaine. In winter.

you have a mean streak!
And I expect bluedevi would be upset if she didn't get him back in good working order.

And I'm also wondering if he could be re-styled into Rasputin.

Fantastic!
Maybe we should all aim to attend martylog's gig as defunct Russian political figures.

Well... It's amazing what a little bit of make up and a girly hair-do can do for a guy's sex appeal... ;o)

True. :)
Although to be fair, not all menfolk can wear makeup and girly hair as well as verlaine

Yes, but you find the style which flatters them. You could make it into a series of weekend workshops.

I don't think I have much talent in that area. *s* But you seem to be doing quite well, judging by the picture. *s*
Only thing I could do would be to judge the Mr Cross-dresser pageant. ;o)

You'd better be careful - we're just crazy enough that we might go for it!

Indeed, shave your chest hair with modalverben's hairclippers and outfit you in bedsheets.

In comparison barrysarrl's stint as a work of art will seem just plain amateurish!

Hah! I'm making Finnish art famous. What a patriot.
Just remember to take photos.

Rice
use half a mug of rice and a mug-full of water per person - the water is more or less all abosrbed by the end of the cooking time. The half-brazilian method (don't start) is to put the rice in the pan, cover it with water, bring to the boil and then leave on minimum heat possible.

Oooh! Katmandhu on telly!

Stunning.

On the way through Porto airport earlier today, Jenny and I saw a woman with flowing black hair, and the first thing Jenny said was "look. verlaine.

And here he is in all his feminine glory.
